WHO ARE WE

Meet Our Team of Survivors, Fighters and Thrivers

A Team of Passionate Fighters

Our organization consists of a group of dedicated individuals who are committed to protecting children from sexual abuse and helping victims of abuse. We are grateful to have many volunteers who generously give their time and energy to support our efforts. Our volunteers serve in various capacities, including prevention education, facilitating healing groups, providing office support, translating materials, planning events, fundraising, and more. We appreciate each and every one of our volunteers for their hard work and dedication to this important cause. We have South Florida, Lake Worth, Melbourne, and Orlando chapters. While it's impossible to list all our volunteers here, we want them to know how much we value their contributions.

  • Trees of Hope Preventing and Healing From Sexual Abuse

    Nicole Escobar

    EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Nicole Escobar first joined the Trees of Hope team in 2014. After serving the organization in various capacities, Nicole was named Director of Trees of Hope in early 2019. She has over 15 years of managerial experience in the nonprofit sector. Her past career and volunteer experience include sales, marketing, writing, editing, publishing, event & facility management, and domestic & international humanitarian work. • Trees of Hope Preventing and Healing From Sexual Abuse

    Sue Koegel

    REGIONAL DIRECTOR - SOUTH FLORIDA

Sue is our regional director in South Florida and has been a key part of the Trees of Hope family, devoting her unique gifts as a healing facilitator for over twelve years. Along the path of her own healing journey, Sue developed a strong aspiration to guide others in need as they embark on their own healing paths. In addition to her contribution as facilitator, she has attentively mentored many of the women who have come through our program. She is someone that these women are confident that they can depend on and turn to, not only during their work together but for years to come. Sue has also brought to Trees of Hope many of the activities that we use in our in-person healing groups.

  • Trees of Hope Preventing and Healing From Sexual Abuse

    Marie Renwick

    REGIONAL DIRECTOR - CENTRAL FLORIDA

In 2011, Marie began her healing journey after finding triggering information on a friend's laptop. Memories from her past came flooding in, and she started counseling before joining a Shelter group. Since then, as the Regional Director in Central Florida, she has led many groups and fellowship events for survivors. Marie's passion is encouraging women to surrender their pain to God and wait to see what He will do next. She loves the outdoors, spending time with her dogs, and having burn parties to let go of the past. Marie is a wife, mother of five, grandmother of twelve, and pursuing a degree in forensic psychology.
